A Day to Remember: Our School’s Adventure to Pakruojis Manor
On Friday, September 13, the entire school came together for a special trip to Lithuania’s stunning Pakruojis Manor. This adventure was the perfect way to kick off the new school year and build some serious team spirit. Though the day started with a warm drizzle, it couldn’t dampen our excitement for a day filled with history, creativity, and fun.
As soon as we arrived at the manor, we were captivated by its elegant architecture and the stories woven into every room. Walking through its beautifully preserved halls, we learned about life in the 19th century, marveling at the intricate furniture and fascinating everyday objects once used by the nobility. It felt like stepping back in time!
But it wasn’t just a day of learning – we got to roll up our sleeves and try our hands at some new skills. Under the watchful eyes of skilled instructors, we tried felting, made our own beeswax candles, and even dabbled in pottery. There’s nothing like the feeling of creating something with your own two hands, and our students certainly rose to the occasion!
The lush gardens surrounding the manor were another highlight of the day. September still felt like summer as the vibrant flower beds bloomed in every color of the rainbow. We couldn’t believe our luck – a late summer gift that made the setting even more magical.
After all that creative effort, we were treated to a hearty meal of local Lithuanian cuisine in the manor’s cozy tavern. Though there was a bit of a wait (there were quite a few of us!), it only made the food taste better. It was the perfect time to relax and share stories of our adventures that day.
And just when we thought the day couldn’t get any more interesting, we took a stroll through the local Cabinet of Curiosities. Imagine a room full of rare, exotic, and just plain weird objects, along with a friendly tarot reader welcoming us in! It was both eerie and fascinating – definitely something to talk about on the way home.
Speaking of the trip home, we were so worn out from the day’s excitement that the bus ride back was surprisingly quiet. It was the kind of day that sticks with you – a perfect mix of fun, learning, and a little bit of mystery.
Here’s to more days like this one, as we look forward to a fantastic school year ahead!
