Grade 4 Explores the Human Body at the Pauls Stradiņš Medicine History Museum
As part of the “Who We Are” unit of inquiry, Grade 4 students visited the Pauls Stradiņš Medicine History Museum to deepen their understanding of the human body and its systems.
During the tour “The Mystery of Leonardo da Vinci’s Skeleton,” students explored the skeletal system and learned more about Leonardo da Vinci’s interest in anatomy and the way he studied the human body.
The visit gave students plenty of opportunities to ask questions, take part in discussions and connect new information with what they had already learned in class.
The experience also combined science with creativity. Inspired by Leonardo da Vinci, students created their own skeleton drawings and interpreted the human body through their own artistic styles.
The museum visit was a wonderful opportunity to bring classroom inquiry to life and encourage students to explore the human body through observation, curiosity and creativity.
