International Humaneness Lessons
In the first week of October, our PYP students participated in the 5th International Humaneness Lessons, an initiative by the “Happy Paw” charity foundation in Kyiv, Ukraine. These lessons focused on promoting a humane and responsible attitude toward dogs and cats, with the goal of raising awareness about the issue of stray animals.
First-grade students learned about the proper ways to interact with cats and dogs, explored the differences between pet stores and animal shelters, and discussed the importance of adopting animals from shelters and helping those in need. Meanwhile, second-grade students focused on how to care for their pets and explored what it means to be a responsible pet owner.
According to the event organizers, more than 3,500 educational institutions from Albania, Croatia, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, and Ukraine took part in the Lessons. All participants received certificates in recognition of their involvement.
We believe it is crucial to teach compassion and respect for those in need and to instill these values in our students from an early age.
